You will meet with your CBT therapist for a number of weekly sessions, each lasting approximately 50 -60 minutes. Initially, your therapist will assess how suitable the therapy is for your issues, and how comfortable you feel with undertaking the therapy. Cognitive behavioural therapy is not a quick fix or an instant miracle cure, but one of the greatest benefits of CBT is that you can continue to use the skills in future situations to prevent escalating spirals of negative thought. Utimately, the main aim of therapy is to equip you with the skills to become your own therapist if difficulties arise in the future
